The Graham Family Invites You into Their Habitat-NYC Home Like so many other low-income, hard-working New Yorkers, Regina Graham and her son and daughter were living in a too-small, rundown apartment in a drug-infested building. Gangs hung out in the lobby. A man was murdered in the stairwell. It was no place to raise children. Dreaming of a better life for her family, Regina says, "I set a goal to own something by the time I’m 40." But with conventional homeownership financially out of her reach, Regina turned to Habitat-NYC. More than 300 sweat-equity hours later and two months shy of her deadline, Regina finally received her house key and unlocked the door to her own home . . . and to a better future. Today, in her small, but comfortable Habitat apartment on a safe Harlem block, Regina says, "I feel so wonderful." She counts her blessings and gives thanks to caring New Yorkers like you for her dream come true. Regina, Mark, and Lauren welcome you into their home to see how Habitat-NYC has changed their lives. Video production by Stephanie Lear and Matt Epstein.Music composed by Christopher Occhialini. A special thanks to Regina, Mark and Lauren, and everyone who helped them achieve their goal of home ownership.
