Habitat-NYC builds from Thursday through Sunday, every week of the year.
A typical site day lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to participate on site. Volunteers between the ages of 16 and 18 must secure a signed consent waiver from a parent or guardian to participate.

All volunteers must complete Release and Waiver of Liability in order to work on our sites.

Volunteers must wear comfortable work clothes that will get dirty. Volunteers must wear thick-soled sneakers or work boots to the site for their safety.

Habitat-NYC provides gloves, tools, and safety equipment, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own.

We work rain or shine! Dress appropriately — no shorts or tank tops. Layers are always recommended.

The use of cell phones, PDAs and other handheld electronic equipment on-site during work time is strictly prohibited. Cell phones can be used during the lunch break.

Water is available throughout the day on the building site.

No construction experience is necessary — just enthusiasm!
