ReStore Social Engagement Internship

Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells building materials, home furnishings, tools and appliances at typically 50-80% off original value. Proceed from the sale of these items will go towards building affordable housing in NYC.  The team greets customers, answers phones, prices items, and helps unloads trucks of donation. We work with volunteers who cover about 75% of the work load.  We have a friendly environment with many opportunities to learn about our non-profit and the world of retail sales.

The Habitat NYC ReStore is looking for a Social Engagement intern whose primary goal will be to build a strong following on Facebook, Instagram and other relevant social media platforms and implement engagement strategies to keep them informed and interested. The Social Engagement Intern will serve as the eyes and ears of our social media presence, identifying conversations, events, and opportunities that could inform our social media strategy. Reporting and analytics would also play a large role in this position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor online news and discussions mentioning or relevant to the Habitat ReStore.
• Track growth and engagement of Habitat ReStore social media accounts and report on key findings and trends.
• Identify creative opportunities for the Habitat ReStore to amplify the story of its mission and influence the larger discussion on social media.
