Emergency Housing Response Fund

New York City is at the epicenter of COVID-19’s impact on the country. What began as a public health crisis has rapidly developed into a housing crisis. Many are wondering what we can do right now.
In response, Habitat NYC has established the Emergency Housing Response Fund. With an initial goal of $500,000 in services and support, the EHRF seeks to undertake the following:
Deploying ReStore trucks to support direct service community partners through distribution of food and medical equipment.
Offering mortgage relief and access to other resources for our portfolio of Habitat Homeowners that may be facing economic hardship.
Providing low-income New Yorkers support with other urgent housing needs, including assistance with tax preparation, public assistance applications and other financial services.
Deploying a construction response team to support vulnerable New Yorkers through rapid-repair housing stabilization projects.
Creating an Urgent Needs Fund for furloughed non-profit employees, including Habitat NYC suspended workforce.
Repurposing Sydney house, our newly complete building, as emergency housing for healthcare workers (no longer viable due to funding and timing limitations).

Funding for the EHRF will come from new and existing philanthropic partnerships with corporations, government, foundations, faith groups and individuals through direct and crowd-funded contributions. All charitable gifts are welcome and deeply appreciated.

Thank you

The work of the Emergency Housing Response Fund would not be possible without our supporters.
