Emergency Housing Response Fund

HOUSING OUR HEALING CITY

COVID-19 devastated New York City in the spring of 2020, and while the worst seems to have passed, this crisis is far from over. What began as a public health emergency now looms as the worst housing catastrophe our city has ever seen. Many are wondering what we can do to help with long-term recovery. As our city moves into a new phase of recovery, Habitat NYC’s response is evolving as well. Our focus is now, more than ever, on the construction and preservation of safe, affordable homes for hard-working families across the five boroughs.
Habitat NYC established the Emergency Housing Response Fund in March with an initial goal of $500,000 in services and support. Thanks to our generous supporters, the EHRF was able to undertake the following:

Provide 100,000 meals through our partnership with the Hungry Monk Rescue Truck.

Offer assistance with tax preparation, public assistance applications and more to hundreds of low-income New Yorkers.
Provide hundreds of Habitat Homeowners, Homebuyers and staff with financial planning resources through our partnership with the Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners.

Provide hundreds of Habitat Homeowners, Homebuyers and staff with financial planning resources through our partnership with the Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners.
Offer mortgage relief to our portfolio of Habitat Homeowners.

Help house our healing City

As the City significantly cut funding for affordable housing, we are in critical need of financial resources to ensure our services are able to meet the increased challenges our city faces. All charitable gifts are welcome and deeply appreciated.
Funding for the EHRF comes from new and existing philanthropic partnerships with corporations, government, foundations, faith groups and individuals through direct and crowd-funded contributions.

Thank you

The work of the Emergency Housing Response Fund would not be possible without our supporters.
