Volunteer at the ReStore
First Time Volunteering at the ReStore?
Join our ReStore staff and volunteers to help on the showroom floor making sales, assisting our drivers making donation pickups, processing donations in our receiving area, scheduling & training new volunteers, organizing DIY classes, and more!
First-time ReStore volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer ReStore Orientation & Training including Habitat History 101, customer service scenarios and safety measures, and take a tour of the ReStore. The 90 minute ReStore Orientations are held once a month at the ReStore, or can be taken any time online here. To learn more and sign up, contact Amanda Santiago at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteer opportunities include:
ReStore volunteers can perform a wide range of tasks, including greeting, guiding, and offering assistance to customers on the sales floor in a courteous manner, interior designing and staging of display furniture, overseeing display and organization of showroom sales areas, answering questions regarding products including availability, repairing donations, managing relationships & securing in-kind and large scale donations and assisting with administrative tasks.
Community Service Volunteers
Volunteers needing to complete hours for school, class, or workplace are welcome! Volunteers with hours to track must complete a Timesheet after each shift at the ReStore. Habitat for Humanity New York City is unable to verify community service hours without the Timesheet.
Habitat for Humanity New York City transforms lives by building quality homes with families in need and by uniting all New Yorkers around the cause of affordable housing.
