Individuals 14 and up are eligible to volunteer at our A Brush with Kindness (BWK) project sites.
Those who are 16 and up can also volunteer on construction and preservation sites.
Groups of volunteers under 18 just need a 1:5 “chaperone to volunteer” ratio (and those under 18 must have a waiver to participate).
Please contact Lidia Azurdia at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Because young kids can’t join us on our real construction sites, we’re hosting a special LEGO build event in the spring of 2018, to get “Little Builders” engaged in our mission and our work!
The first step in this special build event is to collect new and used LEGO pieces from New Yorkers of all ages. Donating a toy is a great way to de-clutter the house, and to teach kids the importance of philanthropy. Then, in the spring, we’ll gather together for a special build event!
LEGOs can be dropped off at the following locations:
The Habitat NYC ReStore
62-01 Northern Blvd.
Woodside, Queens 11377
The Habitat NYC office*
111 John Street, 23rd Floor
New York, NY 10038
* LEGOs can also be mailed to this location
Too young to build? Use your voice! You can help educate your community, sign petitions, write letters to elected officials and more. Check out our advocacy page for more information.
In college? Campus chapters and school clubs educate their communities about the need for affordable housing. Contact email@example.com to learn about starting a club or chapter at your school.
There’s a lot you can do to support our mission from your college or university. Your chapter on campus will be officially affiliated with Habitat NYC, receive yearlong support from our Volunteer Services team, and be given priority in the projects we take on.
